His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu

Governor Of Cross River State
His Excellency Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, born on 18 October 1959 in Adiabo, Odukpani LGA, began his early and secondary education in Calabar and later earned a Social Sciences degree from the University of Calabar. He is married to Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu and blessed with children. Before politics, he worked in banking, the petroleum sector, and farming. He represented Calabar Municipality/Odukpani in the House of Representatives (2003–2011) and later served as Senator for Cross River South, holding key committee positions. A former PDP member, he joined the APC in 2016. In 2023, he was elected and sworn in as Governor of Cross River State.
